Carl Zimmer just posted this lovely piece that spotlights a new web tool called Irregardless, which looks to be a crowd-sourced style guide. Contributors can make lists of ugly phrases, and daring souls can submit their scrivenings to analysis with an eye toward purgative revisions.
I can see many uses for something like this
